Strathearn Building Bridges Inc
Building Bridges into a better quality of life for people with learning and other disabilities and their carers in Strathearn

We provide a focus for community-based initiatives to support people with learning disabilities and their carers, to enhance integration, reduce isolation and to increase community awareness. We work in partnership with lots of local organisations, including Strathearn Community Campus, Live Active, Strathcare, Crieff in Leaf, Soroptimists, Round Table, Rotary, Remake and Crieff Co-op. Before lockdown we organised a range of different leisure, social and sport activities for our members, including Tuesday Club (weekly), Knock Down (fortnightly), Saturday Lunch Club (monthly), plus weekly Sportability, Boccia and swim coaching.

Location: Before Lockdown Tuesday Club met at the Baptist Church Hall. Other activities mostly took place at Strathearn Community Campus.

COVID-19 precautions:
We've been running our group sessions on Zoom since April 2020. This has helped our members, families and volunteers to keep in touch and take part in a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, quiz nights, karaoke, dancercise and live music. We've continued to reach out to those who are not so comfortable with the virtual world and are now starting to make plans to go back face to face indoors (we've already had some fun meeting up outdoors for walks and a mini-Highland Games...)
