The Library of Innerpeffray
Historic Library, museum and visitor attraction, sharing the heritage of Scotland's first free, public lending library.
The Library of Innerpeffray was founded in 1680 and was the first free, public lending library in Scotland. Our purpose is to share the heritage of this special site with visitors from far and wide. Now a museum and visitor attraction Innerpeffray also offers opportunities for volunteers to help as visitor guides and with the maintenance of the grounds. We run events throughout the year and have space to hire for meetings and away days.
